After nearly five months,
direct communication between India and Canada has been resumed. Air Canada has
restarted nonstop flights between Delhi and Toronto with a new procedure
requiring WHO-approved vaccinated passengers to take an RT-PCR or rapid PCR test
within 18 hours of boarding from the Covid-19 Testing Centre and Lounge at
Delhi Airport's Terminal 3.
Air Canada requires one of these
specific tests since no other test from any other hospital within India will be
accepted, even if you are connecting from another city. You may also be
permitted to fly if you show confirmation of a certified positive PCR test
result obtained between 14 and 180 days before your scheduled departure flight
to Canada.
Air India may soon begin nonstop flights between Delhi - Vancouver
and Delhi - Toronto.
In addition to the additional criteria
listed above, the following travel conditions remain same: All visitors must be
vaccinated twice. Canada only recognizes the following vaccines: Johnson &
Moderna, Pfizer, and Covishield. All documents must be uploaded to https://www.arrivecan-online.com/ prior to departure.
All documents must be uploaded online
before to departure, and travelers are advised to visit the government of Canada's
website, www.canada.ca, for information and updates.
